Dew Luxury Motor Cars has served the West Coast of Florida for over 95 years. Originally known as the St. Petersburg Garage, the dealership sold Cadillac, Essex and Hudson automobiles in the early 1900's. In 1915, founder and automotive pioneer, Mr. Roy E. Dew relocated the dealership to its previous location on Third Avenue and Third Street in beautiful downtown St. Petersburg. It was at this time, Mr. Dew recognized Cadillac as the "Standard of the World" and concentrated his efforts accordingly. Many of America's famous have visited Dew Cadillac throughout the decades. These include such recognized celebrities as Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle, Marilyn Monroe, and yes, even Cadillac Connoisseur, Elvis Presley.

Before the acquisition of Rolls-Royce, Bentley, and Lotus, Dew Luxury Motor Cars was the oldest exclusive Cadillac dealership in the world. In the service area today, there is a phone book entry from 1939 that exhibit the 10 dealerships in the area at the time. Only two remain, Dew and Dimmitt (our sister store), our entire phone number back then was only four digits, 4197.

Dew Cadillac has garnered many awards for customer satisfaction, market penetration and trend setting standards. Included in this long list are Cadillac's coveted "Master Dealer Award" and Platinum Dealer recognition in customer service and sales satisfaction indexes. Dew Cadillac traditionally ranks in the top 1% of all Cadillac dealerships in complete customer satisfaction. In 1998, Dew Cadillac placed fourth of 1,560 Cadillac dealerships nationwide in combined sales and service satisfaction, as tabulated by Cadillac Motor Car Division. Dew Cadillac is able to accomplish their mission year after year. The reason? The best resource possible. The fine and dedicated people that work at Dew! Dew’s 55 employee's average 18 and ½ years service with the dealership. Ten percent of the employees have worked at Dew for longer than 30 years!

In May 2000, Mr. Richard Dimmitt purchased Dew Cadillac from the Dew family and partners. Mr. Dimmitt also has a long history of luxury automobile franchise ownership and has vowed to maintain the outstanding Dew Cadillac tradition of satisfying each and every customer. Under Dimmitt family ownership, Dew Luxury Motor Cars has moved to a newly built facility on Gandy Boulevard, just off I-275, and continues to win many prestigious dealer awards and rank at the top for customer satisfaction.

It was not long before others took notice of the extraordinary care and premium products that were offered to the community from Dew Luxury Motor Cars. Shortly following the move to the new facility, the prestigious Rolls-Royce, Bentley, and Lotus automobiles found themselves at home in our showrooms and became complimentary products to our services. Our nearly century old tradition of superior service to our customers and community has held strong and we are enthusiastically embracing the challenges of the next 100 years. The fourth generation of the Dimmitt family has come into place and is committed to continuing the legacy of caring, compassion, and thoughtful service to our customers and the community.
